For those who have been following the estate for a long time, this wine is the renaming of "Barbera della Stoppa".
Their Barbera is the only La Stoppa wine to age in barrique. Also, their Barbera is naturally low in PH and very high in malic acid so it almost never goes through malolactic fermentation.
The vines are planted in heavy clay.
Spontaneous fermentation with indigenous yeasts and 40 days maceration on skins in stainless steel and concrete tanks. Aged for one year in used French oak barriques, as well as 40 hectoliter wooden tanks, then an additional two years in bottle.
Unfined, unfiltered. No sulfur added.
